Responsibilities:

  1. Follows standards and procedures for preparing food.
  1. Participates in menu planning including responding to resident preferences, substitution lists, therapeutic diets, and industry trends.
  1. Inspects meals and ensures that standards for appearance, palatability, temperature, and serving times are met. Ensures that foods are prepared according to production schedules, menus, and standardized recipes.
  1. Assistswith the budget andpurchasingof food and supplies, and food preparation, services, and storage.
  1. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
  1. Overseeing safe andtimelymeal preparation, including the provision of meals and/or supplementsin accordance withresidents’ needs, preferences, and care plan.
  1. Monitors regular and therapeutic diets, including texture of foods and liquids to meet the specialized needs of residents.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in long term care and/or sub-acute setting preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability tomaintainrecords and complete reports asrequired, including web-based reporting
  • Hands on knowledge and experience with dietary equipment
