Common responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, support for clerical functions to include scheduling, referrals, authorization and in-basket support with the electronic medical records.

Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Days (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
  • Prepares patient for rooming and exam
  • Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
  • Performs suture/staple removal and dressing changes
  • Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
  • Provides basic education to patients
  • Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Four years of MA experience required.
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training required.
  • National MA Certification preferred.
  • Successful completion of Preceptor class required within 90 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or a Certified Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school preferred.
  • BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required at time of hire.
