Pre-Operative Care: Assess and prepare patients for cardiovascular surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and documentation are ready.
Intra-Operative Care: Provide direct nursing care during cardiovascular surgeries, including monitoring the patient’s condition, managing surgical instruments, and assisting the surgical team as needed.
Post-Operative Care: Monitor patients after surgery in the recovery room, ensuring proper recovery and transitioning to the next phase of care.
Surgical Team Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other operating room staff to ensure smooth procedures and patient safety.
Documentation: Accurately document all patient care, procedures, and post-operative observations in the patient’s medical record, using the facility's charting system.
Patient Education: Provide pre- and post-surgical education to patients and their families regarding cardiovascular surgery and recovery.
Sterilization and Safety: Ensure a sterile environment during surgeries and assist in maintaining safety protocols in the operating room.
 
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Active RN License CT
2+ years of experience in cardiovascular surgery or cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) nursing
BLS and ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association or equivalent)
