Job description

We are a small, established personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This position is ideal for a highly organized, dependable professional who understands personal injury litigation and can confidently manage cases from the filing of a lawsuit through settlement or trial.

Because we are a small firm, we value team members who take ownership of their work, communicate well, pay close attention to deadlines, and are comfortable handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced litigation practice.

Responsibilities

The Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys on an active personal injury litigation docket. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage personal injury litigation files from suit filing through resolution
  • Draft petitions, answers, motions, notices, discovery, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
  • Draft and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and disclosures
  • Obtain, organize, and summarize medical records, billing records, employment records, and other evidence
  • Maintain litigation calendars and closely monitor court deadlines, discovery deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial settings
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, expert witnesses, and trial preparation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, medical providers, experts, and other parties
  • Assist attorneys with deposition and mediation preparation
  • Prepare exhibits, medical chronologies, damages documentation, and trial materials
  • E-file pleadings and other documents with state and federal courts
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files
  • Provide regular case updates and proactively identify upcoming deadlines or issues requiring attorney attention
  • Assist with additional litigation and case-management responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Prior litigation experience is required. Personal injury litigation experience is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Several years of hands-on litigation paralegal experience
  • Strong knowledge of the litigation process, discovery, and court procedures
  • Experience handling personal injury cases in active litigation
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and competing priorities
  • Strong computer skills and experience with electronic filing and case-management systems
  • Professional judgment and the ability to handle confidential information
  • A dependable, proactive, team-oriented approach to work

Experience preparing cases for mediation and trial is highly desirable.

What We Offer

We offer the opportunity to become an important part of a small firm where your experience and contributions are valued. Unlike a large-volume environment where responsibilities may be narrowly divided, this role provides meaningful involvement throughout the litigation process and direct collaboration with the attorneys handling the cases.

We are looking for someone interested in a long-term position who takes pride in producing excellent work, serving clients, and helping move cases toward successful resolution.

Experience: Litigation Paralegal experience required
Personal Injury Experience: Strongly preferred
