Job description

Media Advisor - Lafayette Media Group
Full-Time | Lafayette, IN
Lafayette Media Group is a marketing and advertising company built around one core idea: local businesses deserve real growth-not just advertising.
We partner with small and mid-sized businesses to connect strategy, digital tools, and data into measurable outcomes. Our work isn't about selling ads. It's about helping businesses get chosen more often.
We are looking for a driven, relationship-focused Media Advisor who wants to be in the market, working with business owners, building strategy, and directly impacting growth.
This is not a sit-behind-a-desk role.
This is a build-something-that-matters role.
What You'll Do
You'll work directly with local businesses to understand how they grow-and then build marketing strategies that help them do it better.
Your work will include solutions like:
  • Search marketing
  • Targeted display
  • Paid social
  • Video
  • Audio

But tools are not the focus.
Your responsibility is helping clients connect those tools to outcomes like:
  • Website traffic
  • Phone calls
  • Store visits
  • Brand awareness
  • Revenue growth

Success in this role means your clients see-and believe in-the results you help create.
What You'll Own
Business Development & Growth
  • Build relationships with local business owners and decision-makers
  • Identify growth opportunities and create strategic marketing plans
  • Consistently develop new business while growing existing accounts

Strategy & Execution
  • Design customized marketing solutions that go beyond "packages"
  • Position ideas in a way clients understand and trust
  • Ensure campaigns align with real business goals-not just activity

Client Relationships
  • Become a trusted marketing partner, not just a vendor
  • Communicate performance and optimize over time
  • Help clients make smarter decisions with their marketing investment

What Makes This Role Different
You are not here to:
  • Push pre-built products
  • Take orders
  • Sell one-off campaigns

You are here to:
  • Think strategically
  • Build long-term relationships
  • Help businesses grow in a measurable way

The Type of Person Who Thrives Here
  • Naturally competitive, but relationship-driven
  • Comfortable being out in the community, meeting new people
  • Curious about how businesses work and grow
  • Coachable and motivated to improve
  • Organized, accountable, and self-directed
  • Energized by building something-not maintaining it

Sales experience helps.
Drive, discipline, and mindset matter more.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Guaranteed base salary + commissions + bonuses
  • Strong earning potential tied to performance

Benefits include:
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off
  • Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Ongoing professional development

About Lafayette Media Group
We are a local team focused on helping local businesses grow stronger.
Our work connects strategy, execution, and results-and we take pride in being a partner our clients' trust.
