As one of the newest Chenega companies, Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS) was developed with the purpose of providing expert Engineering and Technical Support Services to federal customers.
The Media Analyst will provide support in the fields of media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in the research and analytical software tools available.
  • Conduct research, gather data, assess the information, interpret the results, and write reports as specified herein, using a variety of research tools.
  • Observe the highest standards of ethical conduct, customer service, and respect for the diversity of the workplace.
  • Provide real-time analytical reporting on issue-specific events and media coverage.
  • Research, track, analyze, and make recommendations to leadership and portfolio managers on evolving trends in social media tools, applications, and techniques.
  • Produce regularly scheduled reports summarizing messaging across Joint Staff Social Media platforms as well as reports specific to individual platforms to determine the resonance of both messages and the platforms themselves.
  • Assist OCJCS(PA) Social Media Lead with curating and posting social media content to assigned official Joint Staff platforms.
  • Assist in content moderation and flag/report comments on official Joint Staff platforms that violate stated rules of engagement.
  • Staff as articulated by the Secretary, the Chairman, and other senior officials and spokespersons.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is required with emphasis in at least one of the aforementioned areas.
  • 4+ years of verifiable experience in the fields of media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas.
    • This experience can be a combination of study and work experience.
  • Secret DoD clearance required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to determine top-line trends, and sub-trends, and to write reports or make verbal presentations of varying lengths that are concise, correct, clear, and cogent.
  • Ability to conduct media analysis, (i.e., analyzing, synthesizing, and reporting in varying formats on how domestic and foreign media outlets report on matters related to the work and policies of the DoD, Joint Staff, and its related national security agencies of the Executive Branch, like the Department of State).
  • Working knowledge of the structure, functions, and major policies of the DoD and Joint.
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure, both as an individual and as a member of a research/analysis workgroup.
  • Ability to apply the software to anticipatory, ongoing, and last-minute research and analysis.
