What is a media professional?

Media professionals are individuals who create, manage, and distribute content across various media channels, such as television, radio, print, digital platforms, and social media. Their roles can include journalists, editors, producers, photographers, videographers, and public relations specialists. Media professionals play a crucial role in informing, educating, and entertaining the public by ensuring that content is accurate, engaging, and relevant. They often work in fast-paced environments and must adapt to rapidly changing technologies and audience preferences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a media professional?

To thrive as a Media Professional, you need strong communication, storytelling, and content creation skills, usually supported by a relevant degree in media, communications, or journalism. Familiarity with digital editing software, content management systems, and social media analytics tools is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are standout soft skills in this field. These skills and qualities are crucial for producing engaging content, meeting audience needs, and staying competitive in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

What are some common challenges media professionals face when working on tight deadlines?

Media Professionals often work under tight deadlines, especially when covering breaking news or producing timely content. This can make it challenging to ensure accuracy, maintain creativity, and coordinate with other team members such as editors, producers, or technical staff. Effective time management, clear communication, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances are key to overcoming these challenges. Many organizations provide collaborative tools and support to help teams meet these demands while maintaining high-quality standards.

This is a strong fit for an earlyโ€‘career paid media professional who is detailโ€‘oriented, analytical, and excited to be a part of the fastโ€‘paced world of politics. Youโ€™ll work closely with senior media team members to help build, launch, monitor, and report on campaigns while developing handsโ€‘on experience across platforms, audiences, creative trafficking, pacing, and performance analysis. What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • Assist with campaign setup, launch, trafficking, and dayโ€‘toโ€‘day maintenance across social, search, and programmatic platforms
  • Monitor campaign pacing and performance, flagging issues and opportunities for optimization
  • Implement optimizations under the guidance of senior media team members
  • Pull platform performance reports and help translate data into clear insights for external partners
  • Support the development of media plans, audience targeting recommendations, and platformโ€‘level execution strategies
  • Coordinate ad creative assets, copy updates, tracking links, and trafficking requirements
  • Assist with tagging, conversion tracking, QA, and campaign launch checks
  • Help build clear, clientโ€‘ready reporting materials and performance summaries
  • Work across multiple concurrent campaigns while keeping details organized and deadlines on track
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns are executed accurately, efficiently, and on time
What Weโ€™re Looking For:
  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in digital marketing, paid media, campaign advertising, or a related field
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and/or programmatic DSPs such as The Trade Desk or DV360
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with campaign data, spreadsheets, and reporting outputs
  • Basic understanding of digital advertising metrics, pacing, optimization, and performance reporting
  • Ability to learn quickly, apply feedback, and stay organized in a fastโ€‘moving environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in political media, advocacy, public affairs, or campaign advertising
  • Experience with political campaigns, advocacy organizations, or agency environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics or similar analytics/reporting tools is a plus
Perks of Working at AdVictory:
  • Flexible, open PTO policy
  • Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Commuter benefits and travel reimbursement, including rideshares for late work nights
  • Handsโ€‘on training in political digital advertising, campaign strategy, and media execution
  • Opportunity to grow quickly while working on highโ€‘profile, fastโ€‘moving political and advocacy campaigns
  • Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 base
