We are seeking an Area Director of Marketing to join our team in a highly visible senior leadership role responsible for leading the marketing strategy and vision for some of Milwaukee's most iconic hospitality destinations. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing and partnering closely with the Managing Director, General Managers, and Area Director Leaders, this individual will lead a team of five marketing professionals in developing and executing integrated, data-driven marketing initiatives that drive revenue growth, strengthen brand presence, and cultivate lasting guest loyalty. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with operational excellence and excels at building relationships and teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving alignment across the organization.

  • The Pfister Hotel - A recently renovated, historic luxury destination renowned for its timeless elegance
  • Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel - A dynamic, arts-inspired property at the center of Milwaukee's entertainment community
  • The Marc Hotel - An independent hotel just steps from top city attractions

What you will be doing:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive 12-month marketing plans, including both short- and long-range strategies, to support the sales, revenue, and business objectives of the Milwaukee hotel portfolio.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals while fostering a high-performance culture built on accountability, creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key member of the area leadership team, partnering with Managing Directors, General Managers, Revenue Management, Sales, and other department leaders to align marketing initiatives with overall business goals and long-term strategic priorities.
  • Communicate marketing strategies, campaign performance, market insights, and recommendations to executive leadership, translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate marketing's impact on revenue, brand equity, guest engagement, and long-term growth.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder communications by keeping hotel leadership informed of marketing performance, emerging risks, competitive threats, strategic opportunities, and key business trends to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with corporate digital teams, external agencies, and internal partners to develop and execute integrated marketing programs across digital, email, social media, public relations, and emerging marketing platforms.
  • Oversee customer database management, audience segmentation, monthly analytics and reporting, market research, trend analysis, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, optimize performance, and strengthen market positioning.
  • Manage marketing budgets and resource allocation effectively, ensuring initiatives achieve established objectives while maintaining fiscal responsibility and taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Oversee all public relations efforts, including agency management, media relations at the local and national levels, crisis communications, influencer engagement, community partnerships, and strategic alliance development.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all guest touchpoints by overseeing social media strategy, promotional campaigns, collateral development, events, communications, and all marketing materials in alignment with hotel and restaurant brand standards.
  • Partner with Revenue Management and Sales teams to develop demand-generating strategies aligned with rate and occupancy goals, while overseeing marketing efforts for restaurants, bars, lounges, and other non-room revenue-generating business units.
  • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies to maximize long-term market share; establish agencies and suppliers of record; negotiate contracts and service agreements; and oversee the development and production of all promotional and collateral materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with a proven ability to drive revenue growth, elevate brand equity, and develop strategic marketing initiatives that deliver measurable business impact. Experience within the hospitality, travel, luxury, or lifestyle sectors is strongly preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams, with a proven ability to cultivate talent, drive engagement, and create a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated, multi-channel marketing strategies that align with business objectives, strengthen market positioning, increase customer engagement, and drive revenue, occupancy, and brand growth.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence stakeholders ranging from property teams to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic business partner, building alignment across functions and influencing decision-making through collaboration, credibility, and insight.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to translate consumer insights, performance metrics, and market trends into actionable strategies and business outcomes.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while balancing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to identify opportunities that drive competitive advantage and long-term growth.
  • Proficiency with marketing technology platforms, including CRM systems, digital advertising tools, and analytics platforms.
