Job Description:
The Role:
Entegris is seeking a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer to support our product engineers, scientists, product management, and sales teams by providing test data and data analysis of our wafer and reticle handling products, including technology development, test method development, and specialized test equipment utilization, design, and fabrication. This is a great opportunity for a highly analytical person to show their creative problem-solving skills in a fast-paced high technology industry with a growing, global company. This position will involve proving reliability and performance of Entegris products that enable state of the art and cutting-edge technology, providing the Semiconductor Industry the ability to successfully achieve its quest for faster processors, better chip yields to meet the ever-increasing demand, and chip designs to increase substrate utilization.
In this role you will:
  • Provide accurate, expedient characterization and analysis of wafer and reticle handling products and technologies using laboratory equipment;

  • Collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to support new product development, product qualification, and manufacturing support activities.

  • Lead and execute mechanical, reliability, shock, vibration, and environmental testing projects supporting new product development, product qualification, manufacturing support, and material change evaluations.

  • Develop innovative, novel and robust test methods with high regard for product reliability and performance

  • Design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laboratory equipment, data acquisition systems and test fixtures

  • Analyze test data using sound statistical methods, develop engineering conclusions, and communicate findings through detailed technical reports and presentations.

  • Develop new test methodologies and experimental approaches to evaluate product performance, reliability, and customer-specific requirements.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
  • BS or MS degree in Science or Engineering discipline; Preferred discipline: Mechanical Engineering or highly related field

  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering or R&D environment;

  • Demonstrated hands-on engineering experience executing laboratory testing, troubleshooting experimental setups, and collecting engineering test data.

  • Experience with shock and vibration testing and analysis is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in any of the following areas a plus: mechanical testing, validation, reliability engineering, data acquisition programming, motion control, instrumentation, semiconductor industry, cleanroom, particle technology, thermal and fluid science, polymer science, general lab practices/safety, statistical data analysis, shock and vibration data acquisition and analysis, shipping simulation testing;

  • Creative thinker to problem solving and to develop new test protocols;

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude;

  • Strong data analysis skills with Excel and Minitab or JMP;

  • Creo® and/or SOLIDWORKS® user a plus;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer-oriented working environment;

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and across all functional areas;

  • Occasional travel may be required to support collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams located globally.
