Bartelt Packaging, a Pro Mach Company is looking for an experience Mechanical Engineering Manager to join its team in Sarasota, Florida.
The Mechanical Engineering Manager leads and supports the mechanical engineering team at Bartelt Packaging. This working manager role is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate design specifications, on-time project delivery, successful startup, and final qualification-meeting customer expectations while achieving profit goals. The Mechanical Engineering Manager provides leadership to drive excellence in execution and establishes engineering team goals that align with Bartelt Packaging's overall strategy.

  • Plan and oversee all mechanical engineering activities in alignment with Bartelt Packaging's strategy; establish project priorities.
  • Manage resources to minimize backlogs and queue all machine projects.
  • Assign projects to engineers and monitor the quality and progress of each project; responsible for meeting release dates, ensuring production requirements for delivery on time and in full
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with Bartelt Packaging's design standards.
  • Approves mechanical engineering designs; for new equipment or major design changes, collaborates with and gets approval from the Senior Director of Engineering/General Manager.
  • Serve as primary source of expertise for specified product lines; support sales in technical aspects of Bartelt Packaging machines, providing the insight necessary to establish the appropriate design criteria.
  • Communicate at all levels both internal and external to assure excellence in execution.
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasts, activity reports, and project status as requested.
  • Coordinate all resources with other managers and departments as business needs demand.
  • Advise manufacturing and service personnel on proper operation of systems; provides support for and troubleshoots mechanical problems.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; at least seven years of experience in mechanical engineering design experience involving complex electro-mechanical equipment in a OEM environment. Previous experience in engineering design projects for complex, automated packaging machinery highly preferred.
