Reporting to the Director of Hardware Engineering R&D, the Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a distributed team of mechanical engineers while ensuring robust design, testing, and development processes that support highquality, reliable products. This role plays a critical part in shaping product roadmaps, improving engineering processes, and delivering solutions that meet customer and business needs.

This position is part of the Research & Development organization and is located at one of Ott's R&D Centers. The role is onsite in Fort Collins.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of mechanical engineers, helping them reach their full potential
  • Partner closely with Product Management and UX to align on priorities and roadmaps
  • Ensure strong, scalable design, development, and testing processes
  • Drive improvements in engineering tools, PDM systems, and BOM processes
  • Support project planning, resource allocation, and realistic effort estimation
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews, including FMEA, risk analysis, and validation
  • Identify team needs in terms of hiring, tools, and development

What we're looking for

We're looking for a leader who combines technical credibility with strong people leadership and a mindset of continuous improvement.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience leading product design work as a mechanical engineer
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers (formal or informal leadership)
  • Experience with reliability engineering, including designing validation and life testing
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Ability to work on-site in Fort Collins

The compensation range for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 USD per year.This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
