Position Overview:
  • Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Test Engineering Mechanical Center of Excellence (COE) in Orlando, FL.
  • This is a fully onsite position requiring the candidate to be present at the facility 100% of the time.
  • The engineer will be responsible for detailed mechanical design and drafting of test stations, design modifications, and general CAD modeling, supporting both test engineering and program product needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed 3D mechanical designs and CAD models for test stations, vibration fixtures, and thermal testing fixtures.
  • Create CCAs, harnesses, and cables while implementing geometric tolerancing standards.
  • Support design review presentations and documentation processes in coordination with the documentation and test engineering packaging teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet functional, mechanical, and program requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of precision machining, optical physics, and electromechanical systems in the design of test solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CREO 3D modeling.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical or Electromechanical design.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Windchill.
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to coordinate with documentation groups and test engineering packaging teams.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining and ability to design fixtures for vibration and thermal testing.
  • Experience with design review presentations and technical documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Zuken for electrical design integration.
  • Knowledge of optical physics and its application to test engineering.
