LOUIS J. AGUIRRE & ASSOCIATES is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer/Designer (Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection) to join our dynamic multidisciplinary engineering firm.  We are looking for a professional, team-oriented individual who takes initiative, values collaboration, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting Educational, Healthcare, Aviation and Commercial projects throughout Florida and beyond.  The ideal candidate is passionate about engineering excellence, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to contribute to innovative HVAC system designs and Project Solutions

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop Mechanical (HVAC) or Plumbing systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, aviation, and government projects from concept through construction.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM 360.
  • Coordinate designs with architects and other engineering disciplines to deliver code-compliant, high-quality projects..
  • Perform quality control reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of engineering documents
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
  • Utilize industry-standard software such as Trane Trace, and other engineering design tools as applicable.

What We are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical (HVAC) or Plumbing building systems design.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Mechanical, Plumbing, and Energy Codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA, ANSI, and other applicable regulations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Microsoft Office Suite, and experienced with Trane Trace and Newforma.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical or plumbing systems, construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently under general supervision while contributing positively to team dynamics.
