Job Description:

Under general supervision, inspect and test the accuracy of small-capacity scales such as gold, produce, hardware, meat, etc., and up to 10,000 lb. platform scales used for weighing different products and commodities.

Job Summary:

  • Ability to enforce all applicable laws and regulations in area of assignment
  • Test weighing and measuring devices used commercially to ensure accuracy
  • Investigate related consumer complaints; completing documentation of activities and preparing investigative summaries as needed
  • Ability to verify compliance of use, specifications, and technical requirements of weighing and measuring
  • This position requires occasional overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a valid Georgia driver's license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have communication and customer service skills
  • Maintain State vehicle and all equipment pertaining to job
  • Be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • General knowledge of the Windows operating system and basic computer skills
  • Basic mathematical skills

Minimum Qualifications:
