Description Position Title:Purchasing Assistant Purchasing 2nd shiftDepartment: Purchasing Department Location:Plainwell, MichiganHours:2:00 pm to 10:30 pmThe primary responsibilities ofthe Purchasing Assistantare offloading trailers. Each trailer has critical supplies we need to get in the plant for the next day's plant operations, and assisting purchasing supervisors and manager with their duties.Responsibilities:Responsible for offloading and putting away Packaging, MRO parts inventory. Processing parts issue slips, and offload list paperwork. Generalhousekeeping of Box Shop, shipping docks and elevator areas, material identification,packing slips relative documentation for receiving. All other duties as assignedRequirements:Job requires accuracy, neatness and organization with an understanding of time management, must have strong work ethic, be dependable, and be able to work independently.Taking daily or cyclical inventories.Verifying on hand inventories.Verifying incoming shipments of materials.Posting receivers on computer system.Issuing materials from inventory on computer system.Filing paperwork and documents by combination of company name and numerical sequence.Hand writing issue slips and inventories requiringFinding parts and materials in the computer data base for maintenance and other departments.Cross train to work in all areas of purchasing, including but not limited to box shop, stockroom, knife room, office etc.Very strong computer skills, SAP experience preferred, Microsoft Excel requiredAbout JBSJBS began in 1953 as a small, family-owned company in Brazil. Over one million lbs (450,000 kg) of beef are produced each day. The Plainwell facility produces biogas in an anaerobic lagoon and uses it in place of natural gas to heat a portion of the water used in the plant. The facility was recognized by the American Meat Institute as a Tier 3 facility for its accomplishments with ISO 14001.
