Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly is a 100% employee owned grocery chain with 10 locations in Southeastern Wisconsin. We have been awarded "Top Workplace" by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for several years in a row. Here is a snapshot of the duties you can expect:
BASIC FUNCTION :
Reporting directly to the Store Director is responsible for Meat Department operations and assigned personnel. Provides day-to-day coordination/direction over Meat Cutters and Wrappers. Assists in direct performance of duties and responsibilities of Meat Department Personnel on a day-to-day basis. Effectively and efficiently manages Meat Department operations to achieve established sales, and profit goals. Promotes and maintains positive customer and employee relations.
POSITION SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS :
1. Have sound working knowledge of meat cutting and departmental operations, practices and procedures within a retail grocery environment desired.
2. Understand different types of meat/seafood/fish and how to cook them.
3. Effectively and efficiently provide direction, coordination, day-to-day follow-up, training and development and performance evaluation of department personnel.
4. Be self-directed, results oriented, project a positive business image and lead by example.
5. Poses excellent administrative teams building, mentoring, organization, coordination, and attention to detail and follow through skills.
6. Provide excellent customer relations, communications and problem solving skills.
7. Operate department equipment in a safe and efficient manner, including computers.
8. Work in physical environment with continuous exposure to cooler and water.
9. As a member of our management team, understand that with our having multiple store locations, you could be expected to assist such locations, when warranted and/or be "open to transfer opportunities" to such locations if such need/opportunities arose.
