Meat Cutter

Location: Save More Food Market – Minocqua, Wisconsin

Save More Food Market is seeking a dependable and experienced Meat Cutter to join the Meat Department at our Minocqua location.

This position is responsible for cutting, preparing, packaging, and displaying fresh meat products while maintaining high standards for quality, freshness, sanitation, and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, bone, grind, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products
  • Prepare steaks, roasts, chops, ground meat, and other customer-ready cuts
  • Follow established cutting specifications, portion standards, and production plans
  • Operate saws, grinders, slicers, tenderizers, wrapping equipment, and other meat-department equipment
  • Package, weigh, label, price, and stock meat products
  • Maintain attractive, fresh, and fully stocked service and self-service displays
  • Inspect products for quality, freshness, and proper rotation
  • Monitor inventory and assist with production planning and ordering
  • Minimize shrink by following proper cutting, handling, rotation, and storage procedures
  • Prepare special cuts and customer orders
  • Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to customers
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, cutting areas, coolers, display cases, and floors
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety requirements
  • Assist with receiving and properly storing meat deliveries
Qualifications
  • Previous meat-cutting, butcher, grocery meat department, or related experience is required
  • Knowledge of meat cuts, cutting techniques, and safe equipment operation
  • Ability to produce consistent cuts while controlling waste and maximizing product yield
  • Strong attention to quality, freshness, cleanliness, and presentation
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated environments
