The primary function of this position is to ensure Oxy's oil and gas sales volumes are accurately measured in accordance with company and industry standards. This position is responsible for maintaining and calibrating Oxy owned metering equipment and witnessing third party measurement activities for both operational and revenue oil and gas meters. This position is responsible for conducting internal measurement audits for all custody sales records and documenting compliance with the Oxy Measurement Standards. Responsibilities also include Quality Assurance and Quality Control of all Oil/Water/Gas measurement activities. This position requires collaboration with Operations personnel to ensure all measurement activities are being followed per the Oxy Measurement Standards in addition to appropriate BLM, COGCC, API/MPMS and AGA guidelines.
  • Supports Measurement Manager and Measurement Leads in implementing vision
  • Schedules and completes preventive maintenance for measurement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with the Oxy Measurement Standards, regulatory requirements, API and AGA guidelines.
  • Communicate with Measurement Leader, Operations, Regulatory and Production Accounting on issues or errors in reporting.
  • Responsible for data collection, identification, and resolution of measurement errors that could result in the loss of volume or revenue due to human or mechanical failures.
  • Provide measurement support for non-custody transfer metering such as well test, operational metering, and validation (check) measurement and Allocation Measurement.
  • Supports the Seminole CO2 Gas Plant, EOR NGL Stream and Hobbs CO2
  • Troubleshooting custody and non- custody meters
  • Scheduling allocation and LACT meter proving witnessing along with sample pot witnessing.
  • Gather Gas Samples and deliver them to the Labs.
  • ORCM Internal Measurement Audit documentation
  • Support Automation in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Uncompromising focus on safety and environmental stewardship

Currently there are ~ a total of 529 Gas Meters in OxyRock. 69 Custody Gas Meters, 461 Gas Allocation Meters, plus gas Sampling. ~70 + 7 Day Chart Recorders in the Denver City area along with ~30 monthly gas calibration meters. This position will work on Gas Meters and is expected to learn Oil Measurement. It is critical to our success in following the ORCM Measurement Standards.
