Job description

POSITION: Maui Recovery Project Manager
DEPARTMENT: EDS / Maui County
SUPERVISOR: Maui County Coordinator
STATUS: Non-Exempt / Full time – Contingent on Funding
PAY: $24.00 to $28.00
A. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, however, three years of experience working in social services, with strong knowledge base of local (Maui) resources will qualify. The candidate must have a clean driving record and must successfully complete Decision Driving Safety Test after driving for The Salvation Army and annually recertify as required. He/she must have the ability to do fieldwork in various settings. Experience working disaster recovery is preferred
and computer proficiency is required. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

This is a position in the Emergency Disaster Services Department. Position not to exceed (3) years with the option to extend based on workload and funding.

B. RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages all aspects of the Maui Wildfire Relief Plan, including internal/external communication, budgeting, financial reporting, inventory, distribution, site visits, volunteer placement and working with applicants under the direction of, and in cooperation with the Maui County Coordinator and DHQ policy group.
• Manages mobile support (canteens & service vans) for the program, as needed.
• Represent The Salvation Army and its mission, in accordance with its mission, initiatives and policies & procedures, in all EDS/Maui Recovery matters.
• Attend all VOAD, LTRG and/or community meetings dealing with Maui recovery.
• Provide statistical data as required by the program in a timely and efficient manner.
• Process notes and recovery paperwork within established deadlines.
• Process assistance applications, to include the collection and verification of all pertinent client information, qualifying criteria and progress reports.
• Assist and manage case managers with the collection and verification of all pertinent client information, qualifying criteria and progress reports.
• Provide information and referral to program participants in need of such services.
• Perform other disaster related duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
