Job description

Position Highlights:
  • Position: Materials Management Tech I
  • Job Type: PRN/Pool

Responsibilities:
  • Receives inventory from the manufacturer or distribution company in compliance with departmental standards.
  • Maintains the inventory of hospital supplies according to departmental standards.
  • Delivers department orders and non-routine supplies as assigned.
  • Process supply requisitions and delivers orders to the main hospital and other offsite departments.
  • Prepares Par level revisions for the hospital in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Handles stat requests and material management items in addition to normal courier schedule.
  • Follows schedule established for pick up and/or delivery to client accounts and hospital.
  • Sorts mail, diagnostic reports and other items to be delivered to physician offices.
  • Maintains the overall vehicle appearance and condition by scheduled washing, interior cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensures accurate and timely delivery of all outgoing packages to appropriate departments.
  • Ensures appropriate packing/loading shipments into vehicles for safe and secure transport.
  • Solicits bids, analyzes quotations received, and selects or recommends supplier. May interview prospective vendors.
  • Purchases items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements, and other factors.
  • Enters data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date supplier and vendor information; to track purchase and the status of orders and deliveries; and to generate purchasing reports and statistics.
  • Monitors the quality and timeliness of materials and goods supplied; follows-up on the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate status of orders with internal customers.
  • May be responsible for locating or promoting possible new sources of supply. Is expected to keep abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc.
  • Employ various strategies to minimize freight, installation and other ancillary expenses. Facilitate the return of misdelivered or non-conforming product. Some buyers may also sell or dispose of surplus, salvage, or used materials, equipment or supplies.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Valid Colorado Driver's License.
At least one (2) years of related experience; five (5) years preferred.
Compensation:
  • $18.00 - $20.70 per hour, depending on education and experience.
  • Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.

Additional Information:
  • Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work.
  • Work Location: In-person/onsite
