Materials Planner / Project Material Coordinator

Location: Kansas City, KS 66115
Job Type: Contract (Onsite Only)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Materials Planner / Project Material Coordinator is responsible for material planning, inventory control, and coordination of incoming/outgoing project materials. This role combines inventory accuracy, Excel skills, and forklift operation, supporting construction and plant activities through efficient material flow and documentation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using Microsoft Excel and internal systems.

  • Sort, label, and organize materials by contract number for future project needs.

  • Coordinate material issuance, returns, and order staging for construction teams.

  • Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment.

  • Track, reconcile, and report inventory discrepancies.

  • Maintain clean, organized warehouse/storage areas in accordance with company safety standards.

  • Collaborate with Construction Managers, Contractors, and Plant teams to ensure timely delivery and material readiness.

  • Support administrative tasks including data entry, receiving documentation, and Outlook communication.


Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in materials planning, material coordination, inventory control, or warehouse support.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, inventory tracking).

  • Forklift experience required; valid certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
