Job Summary
The Material Coordinator manages the inventory of products, parts, and materials for their assigned area. This role is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing orders, maintaining database accuracy, preparing reports, and addressing inventory shortages or bottlenecks as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
Material & Inventory Coordination
- Coordinate Production & Movement: Organize and track tasks for the production and movement of materials based on the material requirement process.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory counts of materials and parts for your assigned area; identify part shortages and recommend solutions for straightforward issues.
- Order Processing: Process and transact incoming and outgoing orders, ensuring completion and verification accuracy.
- Database Maintenance: Update and maintain database systems daily to ensure all material tracking information is accurate.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute routine reports and documentation related to products and materials in your area.
Project & Time Management
- Prioritization: Manage individual priorities, deadlines, and deliverables independently.
- Adaptability: Adapt quickly to changes or setbacks to manage pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with the team lead, providing status updates and escalating impending obstacles.
- Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety standards and protocols, proactively identifying and escalating potential safety issues.
Position Requirements & Level of Responsibility
- Supervision & Autonomy: Works under close supervision with limited decision-making. Primarily responsible for own work.
- Problem Solving: Uses deductive reasoning to troubleshoot moderately complex technical problems or navigate novel circumstances.
- Communication: Requires solid verbal and written communication skills to convey routine factual information about day-to-day activities to the team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in material production, coordinating, or a related logistics role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Associateโs Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of inventory management or related experience.
- Technical Skills: 4+ years of experience utilizing ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
Physical Requirements
- Lifting/Transporting: Ability to frequently transport and install equipment/materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
