Job Description Summary
The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan invites qualified persons with expertise in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics and a passion for teaching, student mentoring and field-leadership to apply for a full-time Special Instructor appointment within the department of Human Movement Science.
Key responsibilities are teaching and mentoring of students, clinical practice mentoring and leadership in the design, delivery, assessment, and refinement of clinical and supporting courses within the CAAHEP/NCOPE nationally accredited Orthotics and Prosthetics Assistant Studies Specialization of the Exercise Science program. This faculty member will be expected to hold and maintain clinical licensure (in Michigan), participate in national and state professional organizations and societies, engage in student leadership and recruitment activities, promote the program amongst community partners, and may be invited into further-funded leadership opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Earned Bachelor's degree
Graduate from University clinical program in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics
ABC (American Board of Certification) certified in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics
3 years clinical practice experience
Higher Education teaching experience
Candidates must also demonstrate experience with or commitment to diversity and inclusion and developing a diverse faculty and student body
Desired:
Earned Master's degree or above
ABC certified in both Orthotics and Prosthetics
Additional/Advanced clinical practice certifications

The Applied Health Sciences program offers degree completion opportunities for health specialized associate degree holders.
