Job description

Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring pool compliance with Mississippi State Department of Health regulations. Develops Aquatic Programming to meet the needs of Wellness Connection members in a fiscally responsible manner. Fulfills coordinator responsibilities in addition to Exercise Specialist duties.
  • Bachelors degree in Exercise Science or related field.
  • Knowledge of aquatic facility management and pool chemistry.
  • Certification as American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or in the process of obtaining. (must be able to prove)
  • Certification as Certified Pool Operator or in process of obtaining. (must be able to prove)
  • Certification as Water Fitness Instructor or in process of certification. (must be able to prove)
  • Knowledge of Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, and Fitness Management.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Non-tobacco user
  • Participates in education and training of interns and practicum workers
  • Builds and maintain rapport with members.
  • Works closely with Exercise Specialist, fitness associates, contract employees, and physicians.
  • Baptist Memorial Hosp-Oktibbeha will train the incumbent on all aspects of Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA training and certification are requirements of this position. The incumbent will adhere to all security and patient confidentiality rules and regulations mandated by federal government and state of Mississippi.
