Transylvania University (www.transy.edu), a top-tier, independent, residential liberal arts college in Lexington, Kentucky, invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Health and Exercise Science. This is a full-time, one-year, non-tenure-track position, teaching in-person classes, beginning August 27, 2026. Job Description:
The Health and Exercise Science program is an exclusively undergraduate program that emphasizes innovative, hands-on teaching in small class settings. The teaching load consists of three courses per term, plus one short-term course in May (3-3-1). We require someone with expertise in health/wellness and human anatomy and physiology to teach multiple sections of HES 1114 - Health and Wellness (a required general education course) and HES 2104 - Anatomy and Physiology II (a required course in the health and exercise science major) across the academic year.
Qualifications:
A Master's or Ph.D. with some teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. All specializations related to health, exercise science, biology, or other related disciplines are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to those with expertise in human anatomy and physiology.
