Job description

Exercise Physiologist

Location: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

Work schedule:Monday-Friday, 10:30 -7 pm EST.

The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing exercise guidance to disease management members.

How you will make an Impact:

  • Collaborates with nurse case managers in managing disease management health goals of members.

  • Implements the primary care physicians exercise recommendations providing safe and effective exercise instruction and guidance.

  • Provides member health coaching, education, assessment and support of behavioral changes to promote self-management of chronic conditions.

  • Provides members with education materials related specifically to member score condition.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, physical therapy or physical education and a minimum of 3 years experience as an exercise specialist, exercise physiologist or fitness instructor/trainer developing exercise prescriptions for special populations; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • A minimum of 1 year cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, and physical therapy experience in clinical setting preferred.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Instructor is preferred.

  • MS in a related field and membership in American Society of Exercise Physiologist is preferred.
