Position Details:
The College of Education at Texas Christian University seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position. It is on campus and in person, though some teaching assignments may involve online courses. This is a one-year, full-time, non-renewable position beginning August 2026. The position involves teaching educational leadership courses in the evening and on weekends (once per month).
The position also requires service and program coordination, which includes: marketing and recruitment, course development, student advisement, and supervision of principal and superintendent practicum experiences.
Required Educational Preparation, Experience, and Expertise
1. An earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in educational leadership or a related field
2. Valid Texas principal and superintendent (TEA-issued certificates)
3. At least three years of experience working in an accredited public or independent school setting as a school leader
4. Demonstrated success or the potential for success in teaching graduate courses related to educational leadership and research methods
5. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of TCU, the College of Education, and the Department of Educational Leadership & Higher Education
6. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff
7. Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills
8. An academic record of excellence in teaching and service appropriate to rank.
Department Details:
The Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education (ELHE) is one of three academic departments in the College of Education at TCU. Others include: the Department of Teaching and Learning Sciences and the Department of Counseling, Social Change and Inquiry (CSCI). Degrees awarded in ELHE include a Master of Education (M.Ed.), Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the fields of educational leadership (PK-12) and higher education leadership. Additionally, ELHE offers courses of study leading to certification for principals and superintendents and joint MBA/Ph.D. and MBA/Ed.D. programs for educational leadership and higher education leadership, in partnership with TCU's Neeley School of Business.
School/College Description:
TCU's College of Education provides exceptional preparation for the most inspired and inspiring educators, counselors, leaders, and youth advocates. The college offers both B.S. and B.S.E. degrees at the undergraduate level, as well as five master's programs and five doctoral programs, many of which are nationally recognized. Programs include eighteen content area pathways to teacher certification in K -12 education along with programs and/or concentrations in youth advocacy, early intervention, bilingual education, English as a Second Language (ESL), curriculum and instruction, curriculum studies, counseling and counselor education, educational leadership, higher education leadership, science education, mathematics education, language and literacy education, and special education. TCU is the only university in the nation with two on-campus laboratory schools, Starpoint and KinderFrogs, for children with learning differences.
