The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed shop floor schedules that translate the production plan into sequenced and time-phased tasks for manufacturing operations. This role works closely with production, planning, materials, and logistics teams to ensure the efficient flow of work orders, minimize downtime, and support on-time delivery of Excellerate.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Planning and Control Manager, the Production Scheduler focuses on short-term scheduling execution, resource balancing, and real-time adjustments to maintain operational alignment with production goals.
The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, detail-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift frequently and precision matters.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in production scheduling, shop floor coordination, or manufacturing support. Experience in OEM, discrete manufacturing, or configure-to-order environments preferred.
Travel: 0-10%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shop Floor Scheduling Execution:
  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules that sequence work orders across production lines, work centers, and shifts.
  • Ensure schedules align with material availability, labor resources, and capacity constraints.
  • Adjust and reschedule tasks in response to real-time issues such as equipment downtime, material shortages, or order changes.

Coordination & Communication:
  • Collaborate daily with production, planning, materials, and logistics teams to review schedule adherence and resolve issues.
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly to relevant stakeholders and ensure alignment with delivery timelines.
  • Support shift supervisors and team leads by providing clear visibility to schedule priorities and constraints.

Order Management and Prioritization:
  • Release work orders and ensure proper sequence for build efficiency.
  • Prioritize urgent or at-risk orders based on customer commitments and operational factors.
  • Maintain schedule compliance with Master Production Schedule (MPS) and order deadlines.

System and Data Accuracy:
  • Maintain scheduling data within the ERP or APS system, including operation times, lead times, and order statuses.
  • Track key performance indicators such as schedule adherence, throughput, and on-time delivery.
  • Generate reports and visual tools to communicate scheduling performance and trends.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and recommend improvements in scheduling logic, constraints, and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives focused on lead time reduction, flow improvement, and responsiveness.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
