Position Summary

The Master Scheduler is responsible for overseeing production scheduling across Lake Air Products’ four Minnesota facilities. This role partners closely with purchasing, logistics, and production teams to balance supply and demand, provide clear visibility into future production needs, and ensure materials are available at the right time to support operational goals. The Master Scheduler will create, execute, and monitor an effective scheduling management system while implementing best practices that improve efficiency, coordination, and on-time performance across the organization.

  • Develop and maintain production schedules that align customer demand, capacity, material availability, and delivery requirements across manufacturing operations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to establish priorities, resolve constraints, and communicate schedule changes that support customer commitments.
  • Manage material requirements and production supply by identifying potential shortages, coordinating material deliveries, and balancing inventory levels to avoid both shortages and unnecessary overbuilding.
  • Serve as the ERP subject matter expert for production planning and scheduling, ensuring accurate master data, including lead times, lot sizes, safety stocks, delivery times, and order information.
  • Establish and maintain planning, scheduling, and sequencing standards to ensure consistent and effective production planning across operations.
  • Monitor production performance and capacity to ensure schedules align with available resources, allocations, and budgetary guidelines; analyze and report key performance indicators.
  • Maintain production planning accuracy and integrity by managing expedited requests, schedule changes, and updates while ensuring production plans remain responsive to changing customer and operational needs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in production planning and inventory management withexperience in analyzing data relating to product forecasting, master scheduling, or shipment forecasting.
  • Proficient in MRP and scheduling software with a focus on speed, accuracy, and attention to detail. Expertise in load leveling, expediting techniques, inventory management, and lean Kanban practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with Epicor Kinetic ERP Platform is advantageous, along with experience in manufacturing settings and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Strong skills in problem solving, time management, and multitasking, along with proficient computer skills.
  • Energetic, positive attitude with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and possibly customers.
  • Ability to create and adjust production schedules in response to material availability, equipment failures, alternate routings, fluctuating customer demands, quality/rework requirements, and other variables.
