Job description

Job Purpose:

Support a large, fast growing global corporation’s SAP Material Master Data records for North America. This includes but not limited to MRO parts, consumed goods, raw materials by creating material data in the material master program such as descriptions in the Oniqua Standard format, cataloging, item numbers, maintenance, create & update Vendor info records, price maintenance and item analysis data diving. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments and divisions and be able to reason through complex issues, resolve problems and work well under time constraints.

Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead in maintaining the integrity of the SAP Material Master Data base records. Work with all departments to maintain material items data in the system.
  • Link Materials in multiple computer systems programs.
  • Maintain electronic records of all data requests including but not limited to creation, Vendor Info Records, classifications, GL links, deletions/blocks, material item number sequence, Oniqua Standard description format and change/update requests.
  • Insures Material numbers are linked to correct GL accounts & part classification.
  • Provide analysis of Material records, item specs, organize descriptions into formal consistent standards and enter into the computer system (maintenance parts, consumables and raw materials).
  • Analyze, create and upload formulated item descriptions needed to manage and maintain the Material Master Data records for the corporation.
  • Manage Master Material projects and assist with the development of an automated electronic upload tool.
  • Monitor PO activity of Materials to ensure the correct Materials are being used across the Corporation.
  • Support Corporate Purchasing needs with analysis of Materials activity reporting and other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in a material management environment or accounting or a degree in a related field.
  • Experience with an ERP or Inventory Parts system preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Excellent organizational skills, multi tasker.
  • Project Manager able to lead Materials projects across multiple inventory systems.
  • Detail orientated with good analytical skills a must – formulating consistent standards.
  • Strong communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Well rounded with experience in a manufacturing or commercial parts environment, a good understanding of Item details, specification and maintenance and repair parts.
  • Team player and self-motivated with ability to get up to speed quickly.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines – problem resolution.
  • Able to manage and analyze large amounts of data.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products; especially Excel, with experience in using formulas, functions etc.
