Job description

Lead Data Governance & Master Data Management Expert
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Remote
Travel Required: N/A
About Kaizen
Kaizen Analytix is a global technology consulting firm that helps organizations unlock the full value of their
data through advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and modern data platforms. We partner with clients
across industries to solve complex business problems, modernize legacy systems, and drive measurable
outcomes. At Kaizen, we combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative, people-first culture
focused on continuous improvement. Our teams work at the intersection of strategy, technology, and
execution to deliver solutions that make a real impact.
Job Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Data Governance and Master Data Management lead to drive the design,
improvement, and ongoing maturity of the enterprise data governance framework. Master data
management is delivered through Stibo Systems, and the initial focus of this role is the governance of the
MDM workflows that run on that platform, bringing them into the larger enterprise data governance
framework. You will establish governance policies, standards, and operating models that ensure data is
accurate, consistent, secure, compliant, and fit for business use.
You will work closely with all data stewards to review the current Stibo MDM workflows for key domains
such as vendor, product, and customer, and update them so they fit within the broader governance
framework. A key early activity is to assess the current state and business processes that ingest master
data into the client's ERP landscape, which spans multiple ERP systems, and to understand how master
data flows to and is consumed across them. You will map how data is created, enriched, approved, and
distributed today, identify gaps, control weaknesses, and manual touchpoints, and redesign these
workflows so they are governed consistently and can be automated. Over time, the role extends beyond
MDM workflows to the wider governance of enterprise data. You will partner with business and technical
stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and decision-rights models, and support trusted
reporting and analytics. This position requires strong leadership in identifying data risks, improving data
controls, and enabling regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Lead enterprise data governance strategy, roadmap, and execution, starting with the governance of
MDM workflows
โ€ข Work closely with all data stewards to review the current Stibo MDM workflows for key domains
including vendor, product, and customer
โ€ข Assess the current state and business processes that ingest master data into the client's ERP
landscape, spanning multiple ERP systems, and map how master data flows to and is consumed across
them
โ€ข Update and redesign these MDM workflows so they fit within the larger enterprise data governance
framework and can be governed consistently and automated
โ€ข Identify gaps, control weaknesses, manual touchpoints, and inefficiencies in current data creation,
enrichment, approval, and distribution processes and drive their improvement
โ€ข Define and maintain governance policies, standards, procedures, and decision-making structures
โ€ข Establish and support data stewardship, ownership, and accountability frameworks across domains
โ€ข Drive data quality improvement, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and control design
โ€ข Manage master data, metadata, business glossary, and reference data practices
โ€ข Collaborate with business, IT, compliance, security, and analytics teams to align data priorities and
coordinate with the Stibo platform team
โ€ข Extend governance coverage beyond MDM workflows to the wider enterprise data landscape over time
โ€ข Monitor KPIs and report on governance maturity, data quality trends, and risks to senior stakeholders
โ€ข Promote continuous improvement in enterprise data management practices
Qualifications
โ€ข Deep experience in data governance, data quality, metadata management, and enterprise data strategy
โ€ข Strong understanding of master data management concepts and MDM workflows, and how they are
brought under a data governance framework
โ€ข Working knowledge of the Stibo Systems MDM platform, sufficient to review and update its workflows
so they fit within the larger governance framework
โ€ข Strong understanding of the workflows of key data domains such as vendor, product, and customer, and
how they are governed
โ€ข Proven experience working with data stewards to map current-state workflows and redesign them for
governance and automation
โ€ข Proven experience defining and operationalizing data governance frameworks, including stewardship
models, data quality rules, and approval processes at enterprise scale
โ€ข Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives in a complex
organization
โ€ข Experience in distribution, retail, or manufacturing environments preferred
