POSITION SUMMARY
As the Master Craftsman at Ace Handyman Services, you are the best of the best - the go-to expert our clients trust for their biggest, most challenging projects. These key leadership roles are responsible for completing complex, cross-trade jobs including larger remodels, setting the highest standard of quality, professionalism, and customer care. This role requires exceptional technical expertise across all major trades, the ability to mentor and guide fellow craftsmen, and outstanding problem-solving, adaptability, and communication skills. More than a skilled tradesperson, a Master Craftsman embodies leadership - fostering trust, maintaining efficiency, and representing the excellence of our brand in every interaction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead Complex Projects
Take charge of large remodels and advanced repair projects across multiple trades - carpentry, drywall, tile, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, and exterior repairs - including bathroom remodels and deck refacing.
2. Diagnose & Plan
Assess challenging home projects and develop accurate solutions, work plans, and estimates. Use your expertise to set clear expectations and ensure success from start to finish.
3. Run the Jobsite
Self-manage your projects, keeping everything on schedule, safe, and running smoothly. Lead others on the jobsite with confidence, providing direction and guidance when needed.
4. Be the Brand Expert
Represent Ace Handyman Services with professionalism, integrity, and consistency. Show others what "done right" looks like by modeling best practices and high standards.
5. Delight Customers
Serve as the main point of contact for clients during projects. Communicate clearly and kindly, making sure every customer feels respected, informed, and thrilled with the final result.
6. Mentor & Support Others
Share your knowledge by coaching and training fellow craftsmen. Help build a positive, supportive, high-performing team culture.
7. Take Care of Tools & Resources
Use and maintain professional-grade tools with pride. Make smart use of materials and resources to keep projects efficient and cost-effective.
8. Stay Organized
Keep track of daily progress, materials, and time. Ensure everything is documented so projects are smooth and transparent.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 10+ years of broad, hands-on experience across multiple trades (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall, painting)
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train other craftsmen
- Must own tools - everyday essentials through power tools and specialty tools
- Estimating experience is a bonus
Mathematical & Computer Skills:
- Strong math skills required for advanced estimating, measurements, and complex project planning
- Proficient with tablet and/or phone for estimating, timekeeping, dispatching, and purchasing
- Strong knowledge of electronic communication and documentation practices
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license required
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Must be comfortable working at heights up to 32 feet or higher (unless otherwise approved by management)

The 800+ Craftsmen who represent our Brand are the heart and soul of our turn-key, white-glove home repair, maintenance, and improvement service. They are skilled and experienced in many trades, but their professionalism and attention to detail is what sets them apart from others who work in the industry.
Most of the projects completed are for Repeat and Referral Customers-folks truly appreciate our high level of service, and they often request additional work by asking for particular Craftsmen by name.
