This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability.

SUMMARY:
Entry-level hotel technician:
To provide a knowledge of performing routine preventative maintenance on guest rooms/meeting spaces/public areas; while working towards being proficient in independently responding to service calls in all front of house or back of house areas. This tech has the ability or is gaining the knowledge to perform tasks including; basic HVAC repairs, toilet repairs, changing light bulbs, minor repairs of hardware, repairs to tubs and showers, replacing ceiling tiles, repairs to plumbing and fixtures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to learn new tasks
- Ability to learn all hotel standards, policies and procedures
- Carry out specific oral and written instructions
- Toilet repairs
- Tub/shower repairs
- Hardware repairs or carpentry skills
- Basic Troubleshooting capabilites
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Basic HVAC knowledge
- Change/replace lightbulbs
- Change/replace ceiling tiles
- Clean, protect, secure and maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel
- Protect and maintain assigned tools and lockers
- Develop a working knowledge of life safety equipment and responsibilities
- Ability to maintain a daily log of activities to communicate to other shifts
- Ability to clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management
- Ability to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping all work areas clean and organized
- Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner
- Maintain a professional image at all times
- Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures
- Perform duties assigned by Engineering Management
- Report to work on time in a full Engineering uniform
- This position requires weekend work, as it is essential to the role. If you are unable to work weekends (Saturday and Sundays) you would not be eligible for this position.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work well with all members of the Engineering Department and all other members of the Hotel Staff
- Ability to utilize technology including a smartphone and a computer
- Display a mechanical aptitude
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in the hotel industry is a plus but not a requirement
- Any technical, mechanical, or basic maintenance history is encouraged
