Columbus, OH
Job Overview
Courtyard by Marriott Columbus Airport is seeking a dependable and skilled Engineer Technician to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, guest rooms, and common areas to ensure a safe, comfortable, and high-quality experience for our guests.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting the overall operations of the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Complete guest room repairs and maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Maintain building systems, equipment, and facilities
- Assist with inspections and safety checks
- Respond professionally to guest and staff maintenance requests
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
- Support hotel cleanliness, safety, and operational standards
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations when needed
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, engineering, or facilities experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as needed
- Hotel maintenance experience is a plus
Preferred Experience
- Hospitality engineering experience
- HVAC systems and controls
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Building operations and safety procedures
- Experience with Marriott brand standards is a plus
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Flexible schedule may include weekends and holidays
