Summary

The Digital Marketing Associate will play an active role in supporting day-to-day Social Media & Content and Paid Media. This position is ideal for recent graduates or current students passionate about video editing, design, and storytelling looking to gain hands-on experience bringing real-world digital campaigns to life from concept through execution.

This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours a week.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Digital Marketing Associate will focus on strengthening brand awareness, increasing audience engagement, and helping support integrated marketing campaigns. The role collaborates closely with both the Social, Creative Design, and Product Marketing teams to develop thoughtful, high-impact content that aligns with brand standards and resonates with target audiences.

This role offers exposure to the full content lifecycle from trend research and ideation to production, publishing, and performance analysis.

Position Responsibilities

  • Monitor social media trends and conduct social listening to identify relevant content opportunities and competitive insights that inform strategy.
  • Assist in managing and updating the social media content calendar.
  • Support video editing for social platforms using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut, including long-form and short-form content.
  • Perform basic photo editing and retouching using Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop.
  • Create visual assets, including social media posts and stories, presentation slides, and materials for market research and campaign concepts.
  • Collaborate with the social team to develop, review, and refine content to ensure alignment with target audiences.
  • Collaborate on paid media campaigns including Google Adwords, Programmatic Display, and Paid Social platforms
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics, identifying insights to improve future content.
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions, including platform-specific concepts and culturally relevant content for the defense industry.

Marketing Strategy Support

  • Contribute to content strategies and presentations that reinforce brand consistency and visibility across social channels.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to support campaign planning, content differentiation, and platform best practices.
  • Explore and evaluate AI tools that enhance content creation efficiency, from ideation to performance analysis.
  • Monitor the performance of select posts or campaigns and help prepare summary reports highlighting key trends and outcomes.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Role is based at AV's Arlington, Virginia headquarters. Candidate must be able to travel to AV offices in Crystal City.
  • BA degree or Current upperclassmen in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field of study.
  • Hands-on experience with all major social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok).
  • Hands-on experience with digital content creation.
  • Familiarity with social media publishing tools like Sprout, Sprinklr, HubSpo or similar.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Monday.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and thrive in a fast-paced environment

The salary range for this role is:

$23 - $35
