Job description

TotalEnergies is implementing a global Integrated Power Business Unit which brings together its assets and capabilities to deliver power solutions to consumers across the power value chain. It will combine renewable energy, dispatchable or flexible assets, behind the meter solutions, wholesale markets and customer tools to monetize TotalEnergies renewable energy and provide value added low carbon power solutions to customers.

Integrated Power provides powerโ€‘related solutions in both regulated and deregulated markets for B2B and local utility customers. Within Integrated Power, theLarge Businessโ€‘toโ€‘Business (B2B) & Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) team is essential to delivering this new ambition.

TheLarge B2B & CPPA function has three key roles in the Integrated Power Business:

  • Secure offtake for TotalEnergies' renewable production at the best prices and lowest risk profile through structured PPAs
  • Package together TotalEnergies' capabilities on the power value chain into comprehensive and structured solutions and market to consumers capturing the added value that combining solutions creates
  • Develop flexibility for TotalEnergies by leveraging customer site/behind the meter opportunities e.g. DSR/DSM, battery, generation assets, DG, EV, H2 etc., that can be valuable for the company.

The CPPA Power Marketing Senior Manager will be responsible for independently sourcing, negotiating, and closing offtake contracts for TTEโ€™s renewable energy projects. In addition, the Power Marketing Senior Manager will support the expansion of the CPPA teamโ€™s mandate to include power solutions and transactions that package together TTEโ€™s capabilities across the power value chain (e.g., trading and financial products, onsite power, and loadโ€‘flexibility solutions).

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong capabilities in developing client relationships, understanding individual customer and segmentโ€‘wide needs and trends, and converting those insights into profitable revenueโ€‘generating contracts. This individual can sit at our office in Berkeley, CA or our headquarters in Houston, TX.

Reporting to TTEโ€™s Head of Corporate PPAs within the Flexible Power and Integration Business Unit, the Power Marketing Senior Manager role is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a growing team at the nexus of TTEโ€™s integrated power strategy in North America. The roleโ€™s occupant will make an immediate impact on the groupโ€™s success by contributing to sales KPIs and will gain exposure to all elements of TTEโ€™s integrated power business, creating strong opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the origination, structuring, negotiation, and closing of offtake agreements, including structured PPAs, VPPAs, physical supply contracts, and renewable energy/REC transactions, at optimal pricing and with the lowest risk profile.
  • Secure offtake for solar and storage projects by contributing to and executing the origination and power marketing strategy in alignment with the business plan.
  • Originate and manage PPAs for TTEโ€‘owned and thirdโ€‘party renewable energy producers, including shortโ€‘ and longโ€‘term agreements (PAP, structured, standalone, or embedded within physical supply contracts).
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain bilateral relationships with corporate offtakers, utilities, and other large B2B customers, aligning renewable development opportunities with customer demand.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and external client meetings.
  • Review and evaluate RFPs, coordinate internal inputs, develop proposals, and support pricing activities.
  • Gather and analyze data on customers, competitors, and market conditions; maintain accurate updates in CRM systems and report insights to management.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear reports, tables, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with development, legal, project finance, technical, and other internal teams throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Support preparation of materials for project finance, sellโ€‘down activities, and internal approvals.
  • Ensure all postโ€‘execution PPA obligations are met and facilitate a smooth handover to asset management, while continuing relationship management to drive repeat business and additional synergies.
  • Implement market strategy, planning, and execution in accordance with TotalEnergies Renewablesโ€™ global strategy and costโ€‘effective practices.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline required. Graduate degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in US origination, sales, power finance, or trading, with proven track record or comparable experience required.
  • Wind, Solar BESS power marketing experience required. Experience in structuring baseload renewable power contracts preferred.
  • Demonstrated customerโ€‘focused, commercial management, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Results driven and ability to work well within a cross functional team.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
  • Strong working knowledge of key financial metrics (NPV, IRR, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate a dynamic environment.
