What is a marketing researcher?

A market researcher or market research analyst uses data and statistics to make suggestions to a business or company. Their job duties as an analyst are to collect information and develop reports that predict future movements in the market. In addition to quantitative data, a market researcher collects qualitative data by conducting or designing interviews with consumers or industry professionals. Career qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in statistics, communications, business administration, or a related field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a marketing researcher, and why are they important?

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on BSA's marketing measurement and analytics tools, continuously improving how the organization ingests, classifies, and analyzes campaign and program performance data.
  • Provide guidance to junior analysts and post-graduate fellows on marketing analysis, measurement, and reporting projects.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
