As a key member of the senior leadership team, this executive will shape and deliver innovative, data-driven strategies that enhance brand awareness, deepen customer loyalty, and strengthen overall market relevance. The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator and leader with a proven track record of success across both traditional and modern marketing environments, bringing deep expertise across today’s full spectrum of channels along with a strong blend of strategic, creative, and financial acumen and sound business judgment. In addition to leading marketing efforts, the SVP will oversee group sales as a critical revenue driver, while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset across the division and ensuring clear, consistent internal and external communications that reinforce strategy, culture, and brand alignment. This role calls for a collaborative, empowering leader who sets clear direction, provides thoughtful guidance, and enables a high-performing team to excel while cultivating a culture of creativity, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making.

Reporting to the Division President, this role oversees all facets of marketing and brand engagement, including digital strategy, studio and vendor partnerships, event marketing, social media, loyalty and rewards programs, public relations, and community outreach. This is an opportunity for a forward-thinking marketing executive with a passion for storytelling, brand building, and delivering meaningful customer experiences to make a significant impact and help shape the future of entertainment at Marcus Theatres. The role is based at the company’s corporate offices in Milwaukee, WI.

As part of the Marcus Corporation, Marcus Theatres has proudly entertained audiences since our first theater opened in Ripon, WI, back in 1935. Now, as the fourth-largest theater circuit in the U.S., we bring the magic of movies to life with 995 screens across 77 locations in 17 states, operating under Marcus Theatres, Movie Tavern® by Marcus, and BistroPlex® brands. At Marcus Theatres, our passion is electric, fueled by the thrill of film and the drive to provide remarkable experiences. We’re dedicated to hiring exceptional talent who bring these experiences to life for every moviegoer.

What You Will Do:

  • Enterprise Marketing and Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive, circuit-wide marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and revenue goals. Lead integrated campaigns across digital social, traditional media, promotions, and in-theatre experiences to drive attendance and revenue and collaborate closely with key stakeholders and division leaders.
  • Brand, Guest Experience, and Loyalty: Elevate and protect Marcus Theatres’ brands, ensuring consistency and differentiation across all channels; oversee the Marcus Movie Club subscription program, the Magical Movie Rewards loyalty and rewards program, driving guest acquisition, retention, and lifetime value using guest insights, behavioral data, and market research to inform segmentation, messaging, and guest experience design.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and develop high-performing marketing, sales, and events teams by establishing clear priorities, frameworks, and guardrails, while empowering team members to leverage their expertise and creativity in execution. Align team structure and resources to support strategic objectives and adapt to evolving business needs, while fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and accountability. Champion a culture where teams are empowered to test new ideas, challenge legacy approaches, and drive continuous improvement, all within a workplace grounded in open communication, trust, respect, and collaboration, ensuring associates at every level feel recognized, valued, and supported.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong cross-functional relationships to advance organizational priorities, partnering with Operations, Film, Food and Beverage, Finance, IT, and Executive Leadership to execute marketing initiatives aligned with divisional priorities.
Collaborate with external partners including studios, media, and vendors to amplify marketing impact, sales performance and brand visibility.
  • Data, Insights, and Performance Management: Monitor industry trends, guest behavior, emerging technologies and competitor positioning to inform strategy, and translate data into actionable insights that improve campaign effectiveness and business outcomes. Establish KPIs across marketing and sales, loyalty, subscription, and group sales functions, ensure disciplined tracking of these KPIs, using data-driven insights, adjusting based on performance against them.
  • Group Sales and Revenue Optimization: Provide strategic oversight of the group sales function, positioning it as a key growth driver and partner with Operations and Retail Sales to define product mix, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximize group attendance and revenue. Support and challenge Regional Account Managers to identify new revenue opportunities across corporate events, private screenings, and community partnerships.
  • Financial Leadership and Budget Management: Develop, manage and oversee the full marketing and sales budgeting process. This position will monitor spending against plan, ensure disciplined expense management and adherence to approved budgetary guidelines.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience driving multi-segment strategies, market expansion, and brand growth through insight-driven decision making, preferably with some combined oversight and direction of sales.
  • 10+ years in senior marketing leadership roles leading multifunctional teams, partnering with C-suite executives, and shaping enterprise-wide marketing strategy across diverse business units.
  • Proven success managing large-scale budgets with measurable ROI, optimizing spend to balance short-term performance and long-term brand equity.
  • Strategic, collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments, adept at managing competing priorities with focus and agility.
  • Decisive and adaptive problem-solver skilled at realigning teams and priorities in response to shifting business needs or market dynamics.
  • Deep expertise in multi-channel marketing, including traditional, digital, social, and experiential campaigns that drive customer engagement and revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated excellence in brand strategy, media planning, creative direction, and customer lifecycle management, from acquisition to retention.
  • Advanced understanding of digital transformation and data-driven marketing, leveraging analytics to inform strategy and measure impact.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization and build trusted relationships with senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications required; MBA or advanced marketing degree preferred.
