Job Summary:
AERZEN USA is seeking a Product Manager for Control Panels who will be responsible for overseeing all controls-related products. The role involves conducting market research, collaborating with engineering and sales teams, and managing the product lifecycle to ensure alignment with market demands.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends to inform product improvements and marketing strategies.
• Provide marketing with key product information (features, benefits, ROI, etc.) and implement a marketing plan and define supporting collateral requirements.
• Create requirements for new products; work with sales / service, engineering, and sourcing to develop a well-defined solution. Develop and maintain product roadmaps for Controls, ensuring timely delivery of milestones and objectives.
• Utilize CRM tools (Salesforce) to collect real time information.
• Train inside and outside sales and service entities on applications, solutions, product value, competitors, and differentiators.
• Support the development of best practices documentation for starting up projects which include Controls.
• Facilitate and support customer training programs and seminars around our products / solutions and their value to customers.
• Provide quotes and technical support for AERprocess, Controls, and VFDs. Train Application Engineering teams to become proficient in Controls quoting. Assist in determining and implementing product pricing and discounting strategies.
• Work closely with the Electrical Engineering team as it is related to the Industrial Control Panel and suppliers. This will include the successful launch and marketing of the ICP Shop; as well as supporting the sourcing strategy from existing and new suppliers.
• Support quality and performance related issues in application. Gather and summarize details of issues and share with USA engineering team. Work to identify root cause and support product improvements.
• Work with finance to estimate product line profitability by considering as-sold-profitability, warranty and goodwill cost (including labor), and aftersales profit.
• Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to end-of-life, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with market demands.
• Work with Supply Chain to develop parts lists to support the lead-time expectations, localization efforts, warranty, service, and spare parts needs.
• Regularly engages with peers in an effort to provide customers with a larger scope of supply and a more inclusive solution.
• Support global growth and product development initiatives in controls and industrial control panel products, working closely with Product Line managers and other sale and production entities under the direction of the Director of Engineering and Manager of Product Management.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A bachelor’s degree (four-year college or technical school) required. Field of Study preference: Engineering
• 3-5 years of related sales engineering and/or engineering design experience.
• Experience in Control Systems and/or Variable Frequency Drives is a plus.
• Excellent planning, communication, organization, and execution skills; high attention to details and ability to analyze large amounts of data; analytical and logical thinker who can problem-solve and implement solutions, excellent with time management.
• Ability to travel 25-35% of the time including conditions during inclement weather.
• Technical mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
• Expert in Excel, with advanced knowledge of the other Microsoft Office products.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills; able to present to groups and educate/train others.
• Strong customer-focus, excellent leadership and change-management skills, with the ability to listen, motivate, and influence others to action; high integrity and compliance mindset.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, who is collaborative, trusting of others, has strong work ethic, and can work well independently or with others in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
• Experience with Navision would be a plus.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider a plus.
