As part of the Business Intelligence team, the Manager of Market Research & Fan Insights will play a critical role in uncovering and translating fan, market, and brand insights into actionable strategies that support revenue growth and organizational decision-making.This role will lead the development of a holistic fan understanding by integrating first-party research, third-party data, and behavioral analytics. The position will serve as a key insights partner across the organization-including Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Ticketing, and Strategy-ensuring that data-driven storytelling informs everything from campaign development to long-term business strategy. The ideal candidate blends strong analytical expertise with storytelling ability and is motivated by uncovering insights that enhance both fan experiences and business outcomes.
Key Responsibility Areas
  • Lead fan and market research initiatives to understand audience behavior, preferences, perceptions, and engagement drivers across Kings fans and broader NBA audiences.
  • Design, execute, and analyze research studies (quantitative and qualitative) to evaluate fan sentiment, brand health, and marketing effectiveness.
  • Leverage key data platforms including YouGov (consumer insights), Zoomph (social valuation), Nielsen (broadcast viewership), Wakefield (custom research), and the Kings Insights Council (first-party research panel).
  • Synthesize insights from multiple data sources (first-party, third-party, and behavioral) to develop a comprehensive view of the Kings fan base.
  • Identify and communicate trends in fan behavior, engagement, and brand affinity to guide organizational strategy.
  • Support Corporate Partnerships with insights and measurement, including:
    • Evaluating partner activation performance across key assets (social, broadcast, in-arena, digital, experiential)
    • Developing reporting that demonstrates partnership value and effectiveness
    • Contributing insights that support renewal, upsell, and new business efforts
  • Manage and develop Business Intelligence team members, including ownership of Loyalty and Food & Beverage analytics, to ensure transactional and behavioral data are effectively integrated into broader fan insights and engagement strategies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred in business, marketing, statistics, economics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in analytics, market research, partnerships insights, or a related field.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and querying data using SQL.
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics, sponsorship measurement, or media valuation is strongly preferred.
