The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, advanced analytical methods, executive-level storytelling, and the ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple strategic primary research initiatives from initial planning through execution, analysis, reporting, stakeholder communication, and project archiving.

  • Design qualitative and quantitative research studies, questionnaires, discussion guides, sampling plans, and analytical approaches.

  • Manage sophisticated research initiatives involving areas such as brand health, audience segmentation, creative testing, concept testing, copy and message testing, and longitudinal tracking.

  • Apply advanced methodologies such as discrete choice, conjoint and choice-based conjoint, MaxDiff, chip allocation, ethnography, online discussion boards, web usability research, neuroscience-based research, and motivational or emotion-based testing.

  • Analyze complex datasets using SPSS or another statistical analysis platform, along with Excel.

  • Evaluate survey design, sampling methodology, panel recruitment, data weighting, and other factors affecting research quality.

  • Integrate findings from multiple research sources to identify patterns, develop strategic recommendations, and determine future research needs.

  • Translate complex research findings into clear, visually compelling presentations using charts, tables, infographics, and other illustrative techniques.

  • Create PowerPoint presentations and deliver research findings and recommendations to senior and executive-level audiences.

  • Advise marketing and business stakeholders on how research findings should influence audience strategies, brand initiatives, program development, campaigns, and communications.

  • Collaborate across functions to develop coordinated research approaches that address stakeholder needs and support broader strategic priorities.

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external research vendors, and agency partners.

  • Monitor sociocultural trends and macroeconomic conditions that may influence long-term business, marketing, and research strategies.

  • Establish and maintain strong practices for research methodology, fieldwork, analysis, and insight development.

  • Support research budget administration, including project cost management, invoice processing, and reconciliation.

  • Mentor and coach colleagues and provide leadership and feedback on significant research projects.

  • Potentially provide direct supervision, career development, and succession-planning support for one or more team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Market Research, Statistics, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field, or at least 12 years of equivalent professional experience in an insights function.

  • Deep knowledge of qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies and techniques.

  • Experience independently leading complex primary research engagements from research design through final recommendations.

  • Experience developing questionnaires, discussion guides, sampling plans, research reports, and executive presentations.

  • Strong understanding of survey design, sampling methodology, panel recruitment, and weighting techniques.

  • Experience across a range of advanced research methods, including segmentation, brand equity analytics, concept testing, copy and message testing, conjoint or choice-based research, and other customized methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience with SPSS or another statistical analysis platform.

  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Experience using sophisticated data-mining and statistical-analysis techniques to develop data-driven business and marketing recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and ideas into clear, engaging visual stories for executive and senior-level audiences.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, project management, communication, persuasion, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy, accuracy, and attention to detail.

  • Experience collaborating with internal business stakeholders and external research vendors or agencies.

  • Proven ability to identify business problems, develop research approaches, and recommend practical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
