Job description

Shady Grove Medical CenterIf you are a current Adventist HealthCare employee, please click this link to apply through your Workday account.Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Surgery Scheduler for our Surgical Services Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As a Surgery Scheduler you will:
Schedule surgical, endoscopy, and procedural cases in alignment with surgeon availability, block time, and procedural capacity, ensuring all case details are complete and accurate.
Collaborate with perioperative leadership and surgeon offices to support timely and accurate scheduling.
Partner with perioperative leaders to adjust schedules for addons, urgent cases, and realtime operational needs.
Manage scheduling conflicts, cancellations, and rescheduling; maintain a clean, conflictfree schedule and support optimal utilization.
Organize and process inbound procedural orders using appropriate systems and applications.
Perform quality assurance reviews of posted cases to ensure accuracy and correct errors as needed.
Ensure complete and accurate case entry, including required documentation, equipment needs, and surgeon preferences.
Manage addons, cancellations, and schedule changes; communicate updates promptly to surgeon offices and perioperative leadership.
Maintain schedule integrity by identifying discrepancies, correcting errors, and escalating issues that may impact case flow or utilization.
Verify insurance eligibility and procedure coverage; coordinate with payer representatives and surgeon offices when coverage affects scheduling.
Qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
Medical Terminology Course Preferred
Specific surgical or perioperative scheduling experience preferred but not required.
Medical appointment scheduling, healthcare office experience, or call center experience is acceptable.

Pay Range:

$21.02 - $28.03

Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
