Quality Manager

Location: Elkhart, IN (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $65,000 – $80,000

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead quality initiatives for a growing manufacturing operation in Elkhart, Indiana. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining quality systems, driving continuous improvement, ensuring customer satisfaction, and partnering with production teams to deliver high-quality products. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with manufacturing quality experience who enjoys working on the production floor and building a culture of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and improve quality policies, procedures, and inspection processes throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze quality metrics, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Partner closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to improve product quality and reduce waste.
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Manage customer quality concerns, corrective actions, and supplier quality issues.
  • Lead internal audits and coordinate external customer or certification audits.
  • Monitor KPIs related to quality performance and provide regular reporting to leadership.
  • Train and mentor production employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar quality methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing quality experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of quality management or quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement tools is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection methods, statistical analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
