Description:

PRIMARY ROLE:

Assist production manager to supervise 20-25 personnel in the manufacturing shop in three different departments: Fabrication, Assembly, Shipping. Maintain thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes and equipment, while developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all employees in the departments.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

ALL BELOW RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE ASSISTING THE PRODUCTION MANAGER WITH THE FOLLOWING-

  • Complete daily production scheduling.
  • Lead all Manufacturing Related Activities.
  • Responsible for quality control and producing quality products. Identify product for rejection and rework to ensure all customers receive product that meets company standards.
  • Provide training to all department personnel as it relates to safety, quality, production, and equipment operation. May delegate some training functions to other experienced employees or department leads.
  • Responsible for achieving production efficiency in all departments by: Monitoring Production Efficiencies, Meeting Department Goals, Identify Continuous Improvements and Share Labor across departments.
  • Help build and manage a “True Cost” manufacturing system that is used to determine each item’s true cost.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 4 years previous work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools and basic skills of maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Proven experience in lean manufacturing techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills to be able manage and guide to ensure productivity and efficiency.
  • Technical knowledge of the manufacturing process and to be able to troubleshoot problems.
  • Excellent communication skills between various departments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a production schedule
  • Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Post high- school degree preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of hand tools, cordless drill, and rivet gun
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to communicate with team members, customers, and management
  • Team-oriented
