Pelican is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to lead multiple manufacturing departments within a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards.

As a key operations leader, you'll develop teams, improve processes, optimize resources, and partner cross-functionally to deliver operational excellence and support business growth.

  • Lead multiple production departments to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved
  • Develop and execute production strategies that align with business objectives and operational priorities
  • Drive daily manufacturing performance by managing schedules, capacity, labor, and resources
  • Establish operational metrics and utilize data to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall performance
  • Manage budgets, labor utilization, and manufacturing costs to achieve financial objectives
  • Partner with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to support production goals and customer commitments
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction
  • Promote SQDC principles and utilize data-driven decision-making to improve operational performance
  • Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and team members to build organizational capability and strengthen leadership
  • Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, cGMP, ISO, QMS, and company standards
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and support physical inventory and material control processes within production operations
  • Drive accountability, engagement, and operational excellence throughout the organization
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production management with a manufacturing company and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong people skills as a team leader, coach, and a team player.
  • Solid communication skills in listening, clear concise speaking, and sharing company vision and direction resulting in increased employee engagement
  • Ability to quickly learn technology and improve use of technology to improve productivity and quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and leadership.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of ISO guidelines.
  • Understanding and implementation of 6S and Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma manufacturing techniques.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely, creative manner. Knowledge of problem-solving tools like for example 5 whys, Fishbone, DMACI, PDCA, CAPA, Pareto charts, A3.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and other EH&S related standards.
