Job description

Position Title: Operations Manager-Prepared Foods Manufacturing
The Operations Manager in Prepared Foods Manufacturing plays a critical role in overseeing two production facilities, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with food safety standards. This position demands a leader who can effectively manage production teams and drive initiatives that enhance quality and efficiency. With a focus on continuous improvement, the Operations Manager will tackle the challenges of maintaining high standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in protein processing operations and demonstrate the ability to build relationships across various departments. This role offers the opportunity to influence the future of the organization while working in a supportive and collaborative culture. This executive-level opportunity offers the chance to oversee all major operational functions while partnering closely with executive leadership to support continued company growth.
Salary: $190,000-$230,000+ / Year DOE
Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple facilities
  • Oversee production, quality assurance, maintenance, sanitation, warehousing, transportation, and wastewater operations
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory standards, and operational efficiency
  • Manage the complete process from receiving raw materials to finished goods distribution
  • Drive production scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, and customer service coordination
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
  • Manage facility utilities and infrastructure, including refrigeration and steam generation systems
  • Develop and mentor managers and supervisors across departments
  • Build relationships with Accounting, HR, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership teams
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, labor, production, and costs
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions
  • Support strategic planning and operational excellence programs

Requirements:
  • 5-15+ years of leadership experience in prepared foods manufacturing, specifically in protein processing operations
  • Proven experience leading production teams and managing food safety and quality programs
  • Experience overseeing refrigerated and frozen food manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Word/Outlook
  • High School Diploma is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Manufacturing Management is preferred
  • Business Administration is preferred
