Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing / Principal Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

What you'll get to do:

The Supplier Manufacturing Engineer is a technical liaison between Northrop Grumman and its current or potential suppliers. They work to understand, develop, and analyze the manufacturing capacity and capability of the supply chain, and to help overcome barriers to production through technical resolution, operational improvements, and strategic sourcing decisions. This position will work directly with Northrop Grumman Engineering to help the supplier meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements.

Supplier Manufacturing engineers gather concerns, feedback, metrics and evidence of the supplier's operational processes from the supplier through emails, Requests for Change or Information (RC/I) or on-site support. This team member will coordinate with Global Supply Chain management and Production stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities at suppliers that can be implemented with internal engineering.

The team member will manage the flow of RC/Is through the Standard Request for Change / Information application, ensuring that the correct stakeholders and internal partners understand the operational needs of the supplier. The team member will also assist in driving changes to engineering through producibility reviews, strategic sourcing support, and reviewing project requirements documents.

This position will require a passion for collaboration and developing win-win solutions between suppliers and Northrop Grumman. Experience in technical collaboration with cross-functional teams is necessary. Additionally, a desire to understand supply chain, manufacturing quality, and engineering change management will be critical. An ideal candidate will be able to develop priorities based on urgency and recognize manufacturing risks and opportunities as they develop within the supply chain.

This position may require up to 10% travel to suppliers and NG partners.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications

Manufacturing Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelors; 1 Year with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

Principal Manufacturing Engineer:5 Years of work experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

Required for both levels:
Possess a manufacturing or design background
Experience with industry specifications, work instructions, and engineering drawings (model-based and 2 dimensional).
Excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, etc.)
US Citizen with Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government DoW Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet its business need

Preferred Qualifications
Possess a STEM degree
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams
Skilled in summarizing and explaining technical documentation, specifications and industry requirements to facilitate compliance
Experience collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines
Experience interfacing directly with suppliers
Experience influencing change across team boundaries
Experience with change control / management
Familiarity with manufacturing management systems, utilizing manufacturing plans and process instructions
Previous experience supporting government contracts
Proven track record of performing against metrics and key performance indicators.
Understanding of Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and RCCA
Active U.S. Government DoW Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet its business need.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
