About the Role:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead and support the day-to-day operations of our Configuration Technicians. In this role, you will ensure that all component configurations used in our manufacturing processes are reliable, accurate, and effective. You will assist in creating bills of materials, identify components requiring secondary operations, and establish robust configuration management practices for both turnkey and consigned components. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing configurations and supporting efficient production operations.
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily engineering activities and prioritize engineering workloads to support operational requirements, customer commitments, and departmental objectives.
  • Support employee onboarding, training, skills development, and performance management activities.
  • Monitor employee productivity, workload distribution, attendance, and utilization to support efficient department operations.
  • Perform component analysis and classification.
  • Evaluate the development and configuration of secondary processes for electronic components.
  • Perform non-compliant component root cause analysis and disposition.
  • Provide internal and external customer support.
  • Investigate and implement new technology and techniques to improve production, reduce cost, and increase efficiency.
  • Provide support to Product Engineering by performing component research and evaluating component life cycle.
  • Monitor, identify, and resolve all lifecycle issues associated with obsolete components and supplies; perform component-level tests; and conduct various experiments on components.
  • Ensure compliance with required standards and customer requirements.
  • Review and interpret component data sheets and evaluate all components for various product applications.
  • Manage communications with manufacturers and distributors on supplied components.
  • Authorize engineering change orders written against components and specifications.
  • Complete lead-free finish documentation and specifications.
  • Establish standard titles for components.

Requirements
Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. We can not sponsor visas.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering, technical, manufacturing, product support, or related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory, team lead, project leadership, or personnel management experience.
  • Experience supporting engineering operations within a manufacturing, electronics manufacturing services (EMS), or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, engineering documentation, manufacturing processes, product lifecycle management, and engineering change management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, personnel, and operational demands within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, PLM systems, engineering software, and business management tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and CAD.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment regarding technical, customer, and organizational information.
  • Experience with of Counterfeit Avoidance, Tin Whisker Mitigation, RoHS, and REACH.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities at the same time.
  • Understanding customer document packages to establish multi-level bills of materials for assemblies of electrical components and manufacturing materials.
  • Knowledge of quality standards/quality notes for electrical components.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Experience supporting electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, contract manufacturing, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing readiness, product lifecycle management, or engineering process improvement activities.
  • Experience supporting customer technical reviews, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or related professional certification.
  • Experience utilizing advanced engineering, analytics, or project management tools.
  • Experience with SiliconExpert and Arena software.

Compensation: This is an Exempt position with an annual salary.
