Job description

Lead From the Floor at a Leader in Custom Injection Molding

Since 1968, Plastic Molding Manufacturing (PMM) has been a privately held, owner-operated leader in the custom injection molding industry-trusted by customers who demand precision, consistency, and performance. From complex molding development to tight-tolerance and thin/thick wall applications, we deliver high-quality solutions across Industrial, Medical, Electronics, Defense, Transportation, and Consumer markets.
With more than 100 presses across four advanced U.S. facilities, PMM combines scale, technical expertise, and speed-playing a critical role in strengthening American manufacturing while continuously raising the bar for quality and execution.

At PMM, leadership isnโ€™t behind a desk-itโ€™s on the production floor.ย
  • Position: Manufacturing Manager (Plastic Injection Molding).
  • Location: Hudson, MA (on-site).
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (based on business needs).
  • Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000+ (Dependent on Experience).
  • Employment Type: Full-Time.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Manufacturing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced injection molding environment. This is not a purely administrative role-you will be deeply embedded in daily operations, working side-by-side with your team to drive performance, solve problems in real time, and ensure production goals are consistently met.
You will take ownership of the floor-optimizing processes, supporting technical execution, and holding teams accountable to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and delivery.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead from the production floor-actively supporting molding operations, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
  • Optimize personnel, materials, and equipment to consistently meet customer production goals and schedules.
  • Step in as needed with hands-on technical work (tool setting, processing adjustments, light maintenance).
  • Drive performance across key metrics: On-Time Delivery, Quality, Efficiency, and Cost.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase yield and reduce cycle times.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members through direct, hands-on leadership and real-time feedback.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement practical, results-driven solutions.
  • Partner with customers to provide updates, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.

What Sets This Role Apart:
  • True hands-on leadership-youโ€™ll be on the floor, not removed from it.
  • Direct impact on production performance and business results.
  • Opportunity to lead large-scale operations (30+ machines, multiple shifts).

What Weโ€™re Looking For:
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in plastic injection molding.
  • Proven experience managing multiple shifts and large-scale operations (30+ machines).
  • Strong technical expertise in processing, tooling, and troubleshooting.
  • Leadership style rooted in accountability, coaching, and presence on the floor.
  • Experience with ERP systems (IQMS preferred).
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding OTD, quality, and efficiency goals.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Why PMM:
  • Established leader in custom injection molding with over 55 years of success.
  • Advanced manufacturing environment with significant operational scale.
  • A culture that values execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • PTO, holidays, and vacation.
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance (multiple plan options).
    • FSA and 401(k) with company match.
    • Company-paid life insurance, AD&D, and short-term disability.
    • Optional long-term disability coverage.
    • Employee referral bonuses.

If youโ€™re a manufacturing leader who prefers being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and driving measurable results, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact at a company that leads the industry.

Note:
  • This description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  • Pre-employment background checks are required for all applicants who accept an offer. Offers are contingent upon a report which is acceptable to the company.
  • The company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race,ย  color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity,ย  national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
