Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a manufacturer in the Mount Pleasant, Michigan area, is seeking entry level assemblers to join their team!
Pay: $15.50/hr
Shift: 3rd, shift available
Job Summary:
Assemble small standardized electrical/electronic/mechanical components and/or sub-assemblies, techniques may be acquired by a short-term training period and on-the-job experience.  Work involves repetitive line assembly work, usually limited to several specific work locations within an organized semi-mechanized/mechanized assembly line contributing to the completed assembly where methods and procedures are relatively standardized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
  • Use specialized hand tools, including small electric and/or pneumatic hand tools.
 
  • Read instructions, check sheets, gauges and testing devices, including digital read-out displays.
 
  • Recognize, and correct where possible, defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship, and other quality issues.
 
  • Work as part of a work team under close supervision.
 
  • Repetitively assemble and inspect small component parts using fine motor skills, close-up vision and both hands.
 
  • Run several job stations, rotating with other Associates among these stations.
 
  • Communicate with team members, Team Leader and Supervisor using clear and proper language.
 
  • Push carts ranging from lightweight to heavy loads.

Qualifications
 
  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience to understand work instructions and perform duties.
  • Language Skills: Able to read simple instructions, memos, and correspondence; write simple correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one or small groups.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic (whole numbers, fractions, decimals) and able to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Can apply common sense to simple instructions and handle standardized situations with minimal variation.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Regularly stand; use hands for repetitive tasks; talk or hear.
    • Occasionally walk, bend, twist, reach, climb steps, balance, or sit.
    • Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
    • Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
