Live Where Rivers Meet Mountains – and History Happens.

Just over one hour west of Washington, D.C., and an equal distance from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Martinsburg, WV places you at the crossroads of iconic American history, outdoor adventure, and urban access. Multiple international airports (IAD, DCA, BWI) are within easy reach. On your days off, ski the beautiful mountains of western Maryland and West Virginia, explore Civil War battlefields, enjoy wildlife refuges, local wine festivals, or indulge in the region’s fantastic farm-to-table food scene. Historic districts, charming downtown culture, and a remarkably low cost of living make this one of the fastest-growing – and best-kept – secrets in the Mid-Atlantic.

The Practice – True Work-Life Balance in Urology

Join the Martinsburg VA Medical Center, part of the VA Capitol Health Care Network (VISN 5), where we’ve been improving the health of those who served. You’ll focus on the full spectrum of male and female urinary tract disease and male reproductive organs – including kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, testes, and penis.

Duties Include:

  1. Comprehensive outpatient clinic care, inpatient consults, and ED coverage.
  2. New patient consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management.
  3. Preoperative and post-operative evaluation, with OR time commensurate with technical abilities.
  4. Collaborative, team-based approach to prevent complications and achieve optimal outcomes.
  5. Timely documentation and committee participation if desired.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. No nights, no weekends required. No physician employment contract – and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Exceptional Total Rewards Package (VA Physician):

  1. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized for highly qualified candidates.
  2. EDRP: Up to $200,000 student loan repayment (1-5 years, eligibility required).
  3. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days/year (26 days annual leave, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays, plus possible 5 days paid CME absence).
  4. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5-year vesting) + 401K with 5% VA contribution.
  5. Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, long-term care (much can carry into retirement).
  6. CME: Up to $1,000/year reimbursement (full-time, board certification required).
  7. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage.
  8. Licensure: One full, unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.

Why Martinsburg?

  1. Ranked the largest city in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle.
  2. Seven historic districts on the National Register.
  3. Easy access to the C&O Canal, Appalachian Trail, downhill skiing at Wisp and Timberline, whitewater rafting, and dozens of breweries/festivals.
